$50 million funds Red River project
As the Red River bridge nears its 60th birthday, the outdated design is struggling to support current traffic volumes on I-35, the main connection between Texas and Oklahoma.
Traffic in this one passageway has crash rates higher than both state’s averages….which has made this project a priority.
The $50 million would go towards widening the interstate…flattening curves…and constructing wider and higher bridges across the river.
“Texas is our outlet on the world, a lot of Oklahoma products are actually shipped out of Texas ports.”
