WASHINGTON — While working in Washington in the Fall 2023 shoulder to shoulder with some of our nation’s top political and visual journalists there were tangible shifts in industry and democracy in the US. From the speaker’s race to shut down coverage, many are on edge. This independently shot and produced piece highlights that energy through a long-format news story. The shots were intentionally drawn out, shot wide, and long for the audience to have to listen to what the subjects were really saying. The repetition of silhouettes and depth plays on the energy of what a new day will bring to the field of journalism.
