Norman is facing a crisis as the number of homeless individuals sits at 213 as of 2023, according to the Cleveland County Continuum of Care. Various service providers continue to work toward ending homelessness in the state’s third largest city.
At Norman Food and Shelter, one individual with a passion for cooking unexpectedly finds herself in the middle of the mission. Sunny Hill, the food services director and chef, serves approximately 200 individuals each day. It’s all about innovating with the donations, preparing delicious food and giving the gift of a necessity.
The dining room at Food and Shelter, 201 Reed Ave., services two hot meals a day seven days a week. The doors are open to anyone in need of help, homeless or not.
