The University of Oklahoma Dance Marathon combines dancing, donuts and donations in its annual Day of Miracles. The largest student-led philanthropy organization on campus gathered in the South Oval, hoping to break fundraising goals, bring awareness and inspire others to do their part. The ultimate purpose, to raise as much money as possible in a 24-hour period.
Executive Chair Austin Cappleman says any donation can make a difference and give a miracle.
The fundraiser is part of a larger event benefiting the Oklahoma Children’s Health Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The money raised by the organization funds research giving Oklahoma children accessible care, no matter the cost. Last year, OUDM raised $465,318.23 total, bringing miracles to children across the state.
